April 13th, 2023 Day 100 of 128

Sea Day

Oh what a rough night we had last night. We rocked and rolled the night away and I wasn’t even at the night club. I didn’t get much rest with the creaking and noises in the cabin all night long. Always a mom first hearing the bumps and thumps int he night. We slept in a bit and were up and out the door in time to meet with the project Linus group around 9:30am. We both finished and turned in our next completed blankets today. It is definitely much colder onto ship these days. Most people are wearing pants and sweatshirts now. I am SO glad I bought a pair of UGG shoes in Australian and I am wearing them today. After Linus Megan and I went to the Lido and had lunch as we skipped breakfast entirely this morning. Then Megan went off to tutoring and I went to an acupuncture appointment. We met back at the cabin after and we worked on starting our next two blankets today. We have four more weeks left on the ship and several of them are port days but we decided there is plenty of time to as last do one more each. Tonight was a formal night with a 007, James Bond theme encouraged. We had a lovely dinner int he Main Dining room at 5:00pm and I finished my bottle of wine from Kangaroo Island. At 7:00pm the casino opened up for a “Casino Royale” party. You could try your hand at several different casino games for free and those with the most chips at the end were tabulated for prizes. I got to try Roulette, Black Jack and three round of a Slot tournament. They also had a crap tournament, but I didn’t play that. I was lucky in Roulette this evening. I will call it beginners luck. I played my children’s birthdays and hit on two out of the seven spins out of the tournament. I wound up in second place in the entire tournament at the end of the evening. We enjoyed some live music from the dueling pianos, enjoyed drink specials, and made a donation to the casino throughout the evening. It was a lot of fun and we stayed out till almost 11:30pm. We came home and quickly got ourselves ready for bed, put on a movie and are going to sleep. Hopes are for a much calmer evening at sea tonight. I need some extra rest. We are expected to pass into the English Channel the evening and to seek shelter from the brewing storms. We will be pulling into Portland, England sometime tomorrow when our slip becomes available. There is currently a cargo ship off loading and we have to wait for that process to be completed. Enjoy the few photos I have from today. Blessings.
