Sea Day

Sea Day = Me Day.  I have been saying for last few months that I would get some rest, slow down and catch my breath when I finally got on the ship.  Today, it finally happened.  I got up early and hit the gym and tackled my workout.  I am sticking to a healthy eating lifestyle here on the ship, despite ALL the temptations.   I am still going to the gym daily.  And I am hoping to get back to my three pounds down a month routine.  Although it is impossible to get an accurate weight from the scale on a moving ship.  I’ll know again where I am in six days.  We had a healthy breakfast and then it was off to our Project Linus group.  It technically runs from 10:00-11:00.  Megan went off to meet her math tutor at noon and I stayed exactly where I was.  For three hours I sat in a velvet covered swivel chair, in the window on deck three, crocheting my blanket and thinking to myself, “This is the first time I have absolutely nothing to do and I have nowhere to be.”  It was such a peaceful feeling.  This is why I am where I am right now in the world.  My family at home is all safe and the waters are receding in California.  Waiting for reports on any damage and hoping to hear all wonderful news.  Megan went off to play Catan at 3:45 with Pete, ironically he’s the man who taught her how to play on the 2020 World Cruise.  We went to the Main dining room for dinner at 5:00pm and enjoyed another fantastic meal.  I will say that I am noticing everyone getting into a place of calm routines all over the ship.  Both the passengers and the crew are all settling in and seem much happier today.  I will say it is also REALLY nice to see everyone’s smiling faces now too.  Not having the masks on anymore definitely seem to be a weight off people’s shoulders.  We went to the newly opened library after dinner and each of us got a book to read.  The library is run differently now, instead of having to “check out” books, we are all now on the honor system. We are allowed two books at a time and we are encouraged to return them as soon as we are done reading them.  It is set up very nicely and it smells of new books.  I love it.  Next, Megan and I headed to the Crow’s nest up on deck 10 and cracked open a 500 piece puzzle and started it.  Around 8:00pm Megan went off to play games with Gail and then she retuned back to me around 9:30pm and we completed the puzzle.  One puzzle, 3.5 hours, start to finish….done.  By the time we got back to the cabin we were both exhausted, happy, and ready for bed.  A wonderful start to our week at sea.  Never a dull moment in our day unless we choose to have them.  I have zero photos to share from today.  Maybe tomorrow?  Hugs everyone!
