Sea Day
Good morning those of you on land from those of us at sea! Had a little bit of a rougher evening last night. The ship is swaying a little more and there is a cabinet in our room that makes a knocking sounds when we we are moving. It woke me up several times thinking someone was knocking on our door. I will have to solve that mystery and nip it in the bud later today. We are heading into a little rougher seas over the next few days and we will see if we are able to safely tender in Marquesas are we get closure. If it isn’t safe the captain will not put the passengers in danger. I was off to the gym at 6:30am ship time. But since we have been changing the clocks back, the gym was quite bust this morning. I had to use a treadmill instead of the elliptical. I am not ashamed to say that with the rolling of the ocean I did have to keep both hands on the wheel so to speak. It would be far more embarrassing to fall off the treadmill then it is to hold on, LOL!! After my workout I met Megan at the salon to talk to the hairdresser about what she wanted and then I left her for her transformation and headed to the Pinnacle for breakfast. It is funny how when we are apart everyone inquires where she is. Especially during meal times. After breakfast I headed home for the big reveal. She looks fantastic. Even more mature than she already did and with her permission I will post photos below. We headed over to Project Linus time so she could make her grand reveal. She received so many compliments. After crocheting Megan headed back to the cabin for tutoring and school time and I went the pool for some sun, reading and a frozen cocktail. This is definitely the life. I sat there and watched the fellow passengers also reading, eating (a favorite pastime of many on board) and napping. It is a forced slow down when you are cruising, especially during sea days. I will tell you that coming up in April I believe we have 26 ports in 30 days and I will not be feeling the same way then, but for now, I am going to enjoy every moment of peace that I am blessed with. We relaxed the rest of the afternoon away and slowly got ready for our 6:30pm reservation for dinner at the Pinnacle Grill. We invited Gail and Marty from Project Linus to join us for this, the first of a couple of celebrations, for Megan’s 14th birthday coming up on January 16th. You can never have too many celebrations right? The pastry chef created her a special birthday cake. Gail and Marty presented Megan a sweet gift and birthday card. Several officers came by the table and wished Megan and happy birthday. The executive chef and the pastry chef that created her cake came by the table and also wished her a happy birthday. We stayed at the restaurant for three hours and had a most wonderful evening talking and laughing the evening away. Megan tried and convince Gail that they should go and play cards, but I was tired, and I suspect they were as well so we called it a night. Another fantastic day at sea.

A new hot pink dressed picked out for me by Megan.
